Home » Games News » How are players rewarded?

Quest rewards generally come in the form of experience or gold, the two most common elements of any traditional RPG. Experience, as if you didn't know, is an arbitrary point system that allows players to level up in various skills, permitting them to use the skills differently or with more effectiveness. For instance, one such skill in RuneScape is ranged attack. Although newbie rangers can only start with the most basic equipment, players with a high ranged level can find themselves using the bows and arrows of the gods.

The gold, of course, is needed to fund your craving to be a deity.

While quests are certainly rewarding, most experience and gold comes from the fine art of grinding, or doing a certain task over and over again to yield a desired reward. Players must find a way to enter the marketplace of RuneScape and make a profit while growing their skill set. Common skills used to do this are fishing, mining, and woodcutting, but there are opportunities all over the world to improve your economic standing. And, as you get higher in skill ranks, gold can be obtained much more quickly.
